ACTING COACHING
About
Acting Coaching
I have worked as an acting teacher, coach and director for over 12 years.

For 6 years I worked on the participation team at The Rose Theatre in Kingston. During that time, I taught regular acting workshops for both young people and adults. I directed numerous plays, showcases and play in a week summer schools as well as many short films. Everything from Shakespeare to Musicals to Ayckbourn and Pinter and of course new writing. I have also directed several Verbatim performances.

I have spent years teaching acting at weekend stage schools and full time drama and dance colleges. I have taught workshops as diverse as Brecht to Stanislavski to Meisner and Uta Hagen, improvisation, industry advice, camera technique, audition technique and many many more.
One to One Sessions
I’ll coach actors one to one, predominantly over Zoom or wherever workable in person.
I can provide ongoing acting lessons for those looking to focus on developing technique and to develop a deeper understanding of their craft. I’ll work with actors ahead of, or during rehearsals or filming for a specific project. I also work with actors that are simply looking to have a regular acting workout between auditions and jobs.
I’ll work with actors for both in person castings and self-tapes. Either 60 or 90 minute sessions, working to improve the acting performance, but also to give you the confidence and skills required to present the best possible version of yourself, from the moment you walk in to the room, to the moment you leave.
For self-tapes I’ll coach an initial session looking at both performance and technical presentation, but there is also the option to book me for a further session to read in for you and direct you whilst you film.
I will look at the techniques and methods of many different practitioners, but ultimately, I believe it should be about creating your own acting toolkit of what works for you. There is no one way fits all. Every performer is unique. Let’s find a way to create your own path to success!
Group Sessions
I can teach, facilitate and coach groups of young actors or adults.
From schools to colleges to universities and dance and drama schools. Whether you’re a local or professional theatre group, a business or a group looking to provide an activity for your event, there’s something available for you.
I can provide a fun and skills based acting class led by myself or a Musical Theatre workshop, which can be based around a specific show, led by industry professionals that have worked on that show!
Acting workshops can include everything from script work and improvisation to Meisner to Stanislavski, audition technique, acting for camera workshops or a workshop based around a specific text. Musical theatre workshops could be skills based or tailored to a specific show. If there is anything I can’t cover myself, I’ll find you the professional that can!
Acting for Drama School
If you are a young actor looking to get into a full-time drama or dance school or perhaps a performance course at a university, then I can provide the help you need for those auditions. I can help you source interesting, fresh and suitable speeches. We can look at the performance, but also, we can look at the way you present yourself to the panel. I’ve sat the other side of the table…I know what they’re looking for!
